January 1st 1991 was a landmark beginning for Chacko Publications. It marked the launch of Malayalam Pathram, a news weekly which has since then changed the face of news reporting. It is the hub of the world of the Malayalees in America.
Across the seas from India, lies the land of opportunity, America, which is home to thousands of Malayalees. With the intention of continuing the ancient culture of Kerala, its customs, mother-tongue and food habits despite living in a totally Western country with Western ideals, a typical Malayalee has to literally fight to establish himself in this new land. Many a time during this struggle, he loses his Malayalee identity and adopts everything foreign. Pretty soon, he becomes an Americanised Indian. 
Malayalam Pathram was launched to change this. Our intention is to rekindle old memories of Kerala by providing a Malayalam paper which provides an open window of the latest information from Kerala. This lightning transmission of news allows the American Malayalee to remain connected to his native land and mother tongue. In other words, Malayalam Pathram transcends and crosses the barrier of the International date Line by transmitting news promptly. 

We at Malayalam Pathram, believe very strongly in not only maintaining this umbilical connection between Kerala and America but to make it so strong that it withstands the test of time and becomes an enduring asset to our future generations.
 

From humble beginnings, Malayalam Pathram has given a new face to the concept of the correct presentation of facts as they are. As a popular and gripping weekly, MALAYALAM PATHRAM, which is a window for the American Malayalee reminiscent of their past in India, aims to uphold its high standards of the fascinating presentation of news without distorting the facts. So far, not only have we managed to achieve this objective but also to uphold this aim. 
MALAYALAM PATHRAM publishes news from different perspectives, the Malayalee perspective, the Indian perspective and the international perspective. What makes our newspaper stand out from the rest of the numerous publications is due to many reasons one of it being the fact that: 

We believe in impartial observation of news regardless of caste, creed, religion, culture, organization and political affiliations. Other newspapers which claim impartiality, actually highlight a particular community, religion, organization or political affiliation. Today this is a common trend among almost all the newspapers. Though we are impartial to this, we are partial to qualities like truth, honesty and administration of justice.

Due to this, in 15 years, Malayalam pathram has become the undisputed leader of reporting news at its best.
